Led by the long ball ability of Vince
Ferragamo, the Rams are always a threat against whoever they play |
|
Opening day was a disaster, with Rams blowing a 23-0 halftime lead and losing
to the Packers 35-23. The Rams thereafter made it a regular practice to
dissipate halftime leads. They fielded an absolutely porous defense, which
nullified a pretty good offense. Two veteran quarterbacks joined the team,
Bert Jones form the Colts and Vince Ferragamo from his one-year sojourn
in Montreal. Jones began the season as the starter but went to the bench
with a neck injury. Wendell Tyler, as usual, spearheaded the attack. The
Rams ended a four-game losing streak by beating San Francisco in the finale,
but that wasnt enough to save the job of Ray Malavasi, a Super Bowl
coach only two years ago. |
